“Public art humanizes the built environment and invigorates public spaces.”

Erica Swenson is a realistic acrylic painter and muralist dedicated to creating a transformative sense of place in public and private settings. After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2004, she was drawn to the grandeur and public accessibility of large-scale mural work.

Over her two-decade career, Swenson has completed prominent public installations in Nashville, TN, Cookeville, TN, and Jamestown, NY, as well as along the Erie Canal Mural Trail in western New York.

Since relocating in 2013, she has found a deep creative muse in the vibrant natural landscape surrounding Cookeville, Tennessee. Alongside her public murals, Swenson maintains an active studio practice creating small-scale, deeply contemplative paintings on canvas that draw inspiration from her local environment, her hometown roots, and her Swedish heritage
